Kyle and Kayla’s Engagement (Hudson, WI)

This year I have the honor of photographing seven weddings.  Kyle and Kayla’s will be one of them.  I met this sweet couple, from Turtle Lake, in Hudson for a beautiful winter session.  I remember it was really, really cold! Kyle was shaking so much but NEVER complained.  He was so happy to be next to this lovely women he loves.  The coffee helped for a little while, also 🙂

One of my favorite things to ask an engaged couple is how they met.  Kyle and Kayla were close friends before they started dating.  And that friendship was written all over them with how much care they showed one another, whether it was trying to keep each other warm or simply being patient as they navigated through the snow and slippery spots.

I love photographing in Hudson.  The St. Croix River is so peaceful near the pier.  This particular morning was pretty quiet and we had the place to ourselves.  Kayla brought some cute ideas and the candy cane props.  We won’t be thinking of candy canes in August though, and I am really looking forward to their (warmer) outdoor wedding!  Watch for that post this fall 🙂
